Mending the Fold After the Sheep Are Lost

cóng从qián前，yǒu有gè个rén人yǎng养le了shí十jǐ几zhī只yáng羊。yī一tiān天zǎo早

Once a man kept a dozen or so sheep. One morning

shàng上，tā他fā发xiàn现shǎo少le了yī一zhī只yáng羊。yuán原lái来guān关yáng羊de的wū屋zi子

…he found one sheep missing. The shed where he kept them

…had a hole in it which he did not mend in time, and the sheep through that

…squeezed out through the hole and ran away

lín邻jū居quàn劝tā他shuō说：“gǎn赶kuài快bǎ把dòng洞bǔ补yī一bǔ补ba吧。”

His neighbour urged him, "Hurry and mend the hole."

He said, "The sheep have gone anyway — what use is mending the

The next morning the man found another one missing

Long ago a farmer longed day and night for the crops he had

As a result, a few days later, every pulled-up shoot had died.

xiǎo小bái白tù兔hé和xiǎo小huī灰tù兔

The little white rabbit and the little grey rabbit

shān山yáng羊bó伯bo伯dì地lǐ里de的bái白cài菜fēng丰shōu收le了，tā他zài在dì地lǐ里shōu收bái白cài菜，xiǎo小bái白tù兔

Uncle Goat had a fine crop of cabbages and was harvesting them; the little white rabbit

hé和xiǎo小huī灰miǎn免dōu都guò过lái来bāng帮máng忙。shōu收wán完bái白cài菜，wèi为le了biǎo表shì示gǎn感xiè谢，shān山yáng羊bó伯bo伯

…Uncle Goat, I do not want your cabbages; I hope you will give me some

zi子ér儿。”shān山yáng羊bó伯bo伯dā答yìng应le了，sòng送gěi给xiǎo小bái白tù兔yī一bāo包cài菜zi子ér儿

…seeds." Uncle Goat agreed and gave the little white rabbit a packet of seeds

The little white rabbit took the seeds home and at once dug the ground and sowed them

…sowed all the seeds in the ground. Within days they sprouted and put out

…tender green leaves. Every day the little white rabbit carefully watered and fed the cabbages and

The little white rabbit said, "I grew all this myself from the seeds Uncle Goat gave me

lái来de的。zhǐ只yǒu有zì自jǐ己zhǒng种，cái才huì会yǒu有chī吃bù不wán完de的cài菜。
