There are many parks by the sea; my favourite is the beautiful

I love these charming sea creatures very much, and very much

The turtle lays her eggs

qù去nián年shǔ暑jià假，wǒ我men们quán全jiā家qù去hǎi海biān边dù度jià假，wǒ我dì第yī一cì次kàn看dào到le了hǎi海guī龟

Last summer holiday our family went to the seaside, and for the first time I saw a turtle

xià下dàn蛋。

…lay eggs.

nà那tiān天wǎn晚shàng上，yuè月guāng光míng明liàng亮，hǎi海biān边yī一piàn片níng宁jìng静。wǒ我hé和bà爸bà爸lái来dào到hǎi海

That night the moon was bright and the shore was quiet. Dad and I came to the

biān边，zhù注shì视zhe着hǎi海miàn面，děng等zhe着hǎi海guī龟shàng上àn岸。tū突rán然，bà爸bà爸zhǐ指zhe着qián前miàn面，dī低

…shore, watching the sea and waiting for the turtle to come up. Suddenly Dad pointed ahead and, in a low

shēng声shuō说：“kuài快kàn看，hǎi海guī龟shàng上àn岸le了！bié别chū出shēng声a啊。”

…whispered, "Look, the turtle has come ashore! Don't make a sound."

wǒ我xiàng向qián前kàn看qù去，zhǐ只jiàn见yī一zhī只hǎi海guī龟zhèng正màn慢màn慢dì地pá爬shàng上àn岸lái来。hǎi海guī龟pá爬

I looked ahead and saw a turtle crawling slowly ashore. She crawled

…crawled and stopped, looked around, found nothing stirring, and went on

Before long the turtle found a spot she liked, lowered her head and dug with her flippers

…a pit. Before long the pit was dug. Then she lay quietly on

Dad and I crept up to the turtle. In the moonlight we saw that she
